BLOCK BEDSIDE CABINETS
Please note that each one of these are individual and vary.
These gorgeous bedside cabinets have been constructed using a mix of reclaimed timbers including a number of individual hand carved blocks; making up the door panel. Originating from northern Jodhpur, in the Basni District, these wonderful cabinets have been made by a small group of skilled artisan craftmen. The ‘block effect’ provides an eye catching and individual look, while the piece resonates history, charm and place, bringing a warmth of Rajasthan into the home.
Visual Description
The doors to each piece have been individually created using reclaimed pieces of carved wood which otherwise would be left as scrap. I love the way they find ways to use up all their waste products. This also means that each item is totally individual and unique. There are 2 wooden catches and an adequate iron handle. The colouring is mainly natural browns with some subtle tints of blues and greens.
Uses
A perfect unit to place beside the bed, with ample storage space within the cupboard. Of course this can be used elsewhere in the house and would make a lovely little plant stand or the likes.
