STUNNING UNIQUE BOOKSHELF
A quite magnificent example of a stunning unique bookshelf that has been made from a mix of reclaimed Indian hardwoods. A simply staggering and eye-catching piece of furniture that includes a number of different elements. An initial attraction is the old hand carved ‘beam’ that runs across the top of the bookshelf. This piece has been beautifully hand carved many years ago and includes a number of floral motifs and decorations and inparticular, a gorgeous Ganesha. A further impressive feature to this item are the extraordinary side pillars which have an array of hand carved chain-link imbedded in the wood. An added attraction that equally catches the eye, are the two corbel ends at the top of the bookshelf that protrude outward and are both intricately hand carved. All in all this majestic item of furniture stands proud and is reflective of skilled craftsmanship, history and culture.
A truly majestic item of furniture that exudes craftsmanship, culture and place. It has been constructed from a mix of native Indian hardwoods. There have been fitted to this piece four shelves which provides plenty of storage options. There are a number of particular features to this item which stand out and help encapsulate it’s distinctive and impressive look. Firstly, the cross ‘beam’ which is very old and includes a hand carved image of Ganesha alongside a number of floral and decorative motifs. Secondly, a pair of very old hand carved corbels extend out from the top corners. Thirdly, the front side panels have carved into them an extraordinary ‘chain-link’ effect, further enhancing the overall impressive and distinctive look. Further hand carved elements can be seen and remains of a Jodhpur blue colour to the lower side walls can be seen. A truly one-off item of furniture that exudes character and distinction.
An extraordianry item of furniture that has presence and character. It could reside in a large entranceway or study. Further to this then equally in a large living/dining room to hold books or crockery.
