RED MONEY BOXES
These are charming small red money boxes from Jodhpur. Artists have hand painted these charity boxes, which are used by an organisation that aids neglected cows, a sacred animal to most Indians. Red in colour, these iron boxes have a hand painted picture of a cow and some Hindi text on the front and to each side. Shops would have displayed these on the counter to collect for the charity. Being an individual item, the ‘number’ on the front do vary. Overall these make for a really attractive money box.
Visual Description
These rectangular tins are mainly red in colour. Each features the painting of a cow within some grass. On multiple sides there is Hindi writing. The creator has attached a plate to the top which enables it to be attached to the wall. There is a slot on the top for the money. A catch has been fitted on the front which therefore can be padlocked, and the lid lifts up from the top of the box.
