Treasures on the Road: Supporting Friends and Finding Beauty Before Diwali

Today has been another day on the road, visiting old friends whom we see annually on our travels. It’s always a quick catch-up on how everyone is doing—updates on their families and businesses. It’s disheartening to hear about the challenges many are facing; the impact of America’s import taxes has made business between India and the USA increasingly difficult. We will continue to do our part from the UK to support these families.

It was especially heartwarming to hear from the son of a long-time supplier, who is now also deeply involved in the business. He emphasised how important it is for us to visit at this time of year (which we generally do), as it provides a significant boost for them before Diwali. He often reminds his father of this during their quieter period, which they’ve had until our visit.

We feel fortunate to have found many gorgeous pieces today. The variety is astounding, ranging from original, rustic teak items to newly made, expertly carved bookcases, and everything imaginable in between. Below are some of the items we have ordered.
