Long travels are now behind us and we are all settling into our Indian days and ways ….. Namaskar.
The monsoon has not long passed and the morning air is stifling and breathless with high humidity.

I’m back in India again on a buying trip with my Dad and David! This marks our annual journey to purchase some gorgeous Indian furniture from the vibrant city of Jodhpur, Rajasthan, to bring back home to Brighton and Hove, UK.
Nestled in the north eastern corner of India, Nagaland is a state that feels like a well-kept secret, waiting to be discovered. With its breath taking landscapes, vibrant festivals, and rich cultural tapestry, it offers a unique glimpse into the lives of its indigenous communities. But what truly sets Nagaland apart are its handicrafts and furniture, each piece telling a story that reflects the artistry and heritage of the Naga people.
ROUND UP OF THE PAST FEW DAYS
Well doesn’t time fly…
We’ve had a busy few days, spent between our two suppliers.
Whilst at our main, bigger supplier we once again walk through his showrooms and warehouses…
Wake to the early warmth of the day and further discoveries to hopefully be revealed. The new day journey begins back into the throng of the everyday Jodhpur traffic; a gentle swaying of movement, avoiding contact of both the oncoming and passing traffic…
The day begins to the inimitable humid warmth, post monsoon season and a busy day ahead visiting a number of our ‘small’ family suppliers, in the back and beyond. Once picked up we make our way through the hustle and bustle of street/road life (thankfully) avoiding any contact with fellow users. A myriad of colour found on the many….
Well here we are. We have arrived and completed our first day. The past 48 hours have gone so fast…
The journey was pretty smooth all round.
On arrival to Jodhpur we were greeted by the familiar “crazy driver”. Always smiling, laughing; a welcome sight after the long journey. He brought us directly to the showroom where we had hugs…
I’m ever so excited! I’ve not been back to Indian since April 2019 as my following 2020 trip was obviously cancelled. I allowed Dad and David the pleasure of taking the first trip back out last year, but it’s definitely my turn again now!
